Lee Chapman, proprietor, entered the precious metal industry in 1988 and has worked for some of Australia’s leading jewellery houses.
Lee gained experience in jewellery manufacturing, stone setting and the refining process before he decided to operate his own jewellery repair and manufacturing business.
This business has evolved over time, and as of 2010, became SA Gold Traders.

Lee Chapman started in the jewellery industry in 1988, although it’s always been in his blood as his father was an opal miner and also had a small gold mine, which is where Lee found his interest.
Lee began his career working for a nationally recognised jewellery manufacturing company for 9 years. Here he worked his way through all facets of jewellery making, stone setting and precious metal refining and manufacturing.
From there, he moved on to working for some prestigious and well know jewellers; Burgess Jewellers, Pure Envy and Chez Jewels to name a few.
Lee then started his own bench jewellery business ‘Lee of Adelaide’, where he provided custom work and repairs for National firm Angus & Coote.
In 2010 Lee started SA Gold Traders and in a short time has grown it into an industry reputable business that has the endorsement of being a Perth Mint Distributor.
